mail from <> messages

I have lots of these type of entries in the maillog
from=<>, size=0, class=0, nrcpts=0, proto=SMTP, daemon=MTA,

When I put a sniffer on my network I can see that my mailserver says that the user is OK
MAIL FROM: <>
Response 250 2.1.0 ..Sender OK

Any idea why I should be accepting mail from <>

Any way to Reject / Discard this mail ?
