Hi guys, relative newbie here...

I've just set up a Domino 6.5 server, and I have a domain name which I'm using for email which works great - I can email my.name@mydomain.com and the mail arrives in the correct mailbox. However, I would like to set something up so that ALL mail to mydomain.com goes to a single mailbox.

So far I have managed to create an agent which transfers all the mail to my mail database, using the Mail Rules in Domino Administrator, but this then only appears in the "All Documents" view, and not in my inbox.

Surely what I want to do isn't a big deal, I was surprised not to find an option somewhere. I guess I need a wildcard inernet address or an agent that forwards to my inbox instead of just to the database in heneral, but I'm stuck... :-(

Firstly, Domino does not support wildcards in mail addresses. To do so would open up your environment to all kinds of spam to invalid accounts e.g. rubbish@mydomain.com could quickly allow your mail server to become flooded with e-mail.

That said - I guess it depends on how many users you have, and why you want to do this.

If you only have a few mail user accounts then you could create an agent on each one to forward a copy of all e-mail to your account.

If the reason is becuase you want to monitor communication then use the Journalling feature of Domino.

If you are worried that someone will misspell the localpart of your address (before the @) then just put all variants in your person document in the Domino directory.

Finally, If the reason is because you have a personal internet domain and you want trap all mail then you are better off using an ISP that allows you to specify a "catch all" mail address to forward to.

Hope this helps

Mike

The "finally" part is my situation! How many users do I have? Well, one, actually... Me.

I used to have a catchall email address on this domain name, and a website hosted by somebody else, but then I transferred my domain name to registerfly.com and directed it to my server (via a dynamic update client).

The problem is that I started to use different email addresses for different sites, such as ebay@mydomain or paypal@mydomain - then I could use the "rules" in Outlook to put all my mail in the appropriate folder, and also allowed me to track who was selling my address!

I have now solved the problem, simply by including all the names (such as ebay and paypal) into my Domain directory. IT just means I have to look through my server log occasionally, to see if there's one I've forgotten!

Cheers!
