Hello All.

We are having problems with a lotus domino server..

We want to forward a users e-mail onto another account, we have set the other address in the users 'Forwarding address' field on the domino server.

However, mail still seems to be going to his internet address and not his forwarding address..

I am new to domino, so not sure if there is anything I have missed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

The only time I have experienced this is when replication is not occuring correctly between two or more servers, so one address book on one server has the correct forwarding address and the other address book which has not had the replicated change (forwarded adddress) still has the original internet address. Depending on the way mail is being routed around your mail servers and the location of your users mail box this may or may not be the cause.
If you have more than one Domino server check all your names.nsf (address books) for consistency, if they are not then you will need to force a replication and then work out why replication is not occuring as it should. Just post here again if you have other probs.

Hoppe this helps.

Dave

Hello Dave,

Thanks for your reply. There is only one Domino Server so there isn't an issue with replication. We have put an external SMTP address in the field for "Forwarding Address" which works fine for addresses from external senders but if any e-mails are sent internally to the recepient then they are not forwarded, so I can only assume that you have to configure it differently for internal e-mails?

Thanks, Mike.

If they only want mail in the forwarded address, then (in R5 at least), select the mail system to be "other internet mail" and then everything goes to the forwarding address (nothing kept locally)

Thanks Graham

I have made the changes, the user is going to run some tests and let us know!

Thanks
Mike
