I am very confused and hope someone can help.
I am trying to use my exchange mailbox at work from home.
Work:
Win2K Server
Exchange 5.5
Sonicwall with VPN
Home:
Win2K Pro
Sonicwall VPN client
Outlook 2000
Linksys BEFW11S4 Router/ Firewall
Verizon DSL/ PPOE
I have no problem connecting to my work server via VPN client. Can browse the network, etc. Can also connect to exchange mailbox and send/receive mail and post notes without a problem.
PROBLEM: Everytime I try to add an appointment, contact or task, it just sits there. About 30 seconds later I get the following message, "Could not save item. Network problems are preventing connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer." Even after getting this message, I can still send and receive mail.
If I take the Linksys out and use WinPoet to go directly from my computer it works without any problems. If I take a laptop and dial-up via modem, I have no problem using the same Sonciwall VPN client. Thus, I assume it is something with the Linksys.
I called Linksys and got nowhere. Ports are open on both sides as best as I can tell. I even put the computer on the DMZ with no change.
Please help, I am going crazy.
Thanks.
