Based on what I've already seen, this is not a new problem for this forum. I had cleaned up the /var/spool/mqueue directory this afternoon by getting rid of messages Deferred because of timeouts, but for some reason, we just can't get ahead.
We had around 100 in the mail queue and now we're approaching 1000.
We are still sending/receiving mail o.k., but we have had some complaints from users about "slow" mail.
I've killed processes that were months old still trying to send mail and stopped/restarted the sendmail daemon.
Any ideas on what I can look at? Thanks.
