Ive recently connected to layer 2 as or ISP upgraded...since this, mail clients on the internal network will not authenticate under 1 minute...ive tried 10.0.1.1 as the POP3 server...Ive tried mail.company.com.au and also the external IP...an still it takes ages...when i disconnect the DSL connection or connect from outside of the network it authenticates straight away...i cant seem to find the problem.

Has anybody else had this issue???

Sounds like forward/reverse DNS lookup problem to me!

Be sure that you are getting good dns lookup results, confirm that you have the "Correct" dns server{s} defined on your network settings and or slap them into your hosts file.

Good Luck,
Laurie.
