Anyone out there have anything good, bad or whatever to say about the new tool out for fishing insulated walls.

It's called " Magnepull cable pulling tool "

Just wondering if it is really worth average $ 130.00

Rich

I looked at it and decided it wasn't worth it , I would really like to p-lay with one a bit but from what I can see I wouldn't be a improvement over a good fishtape

one issue I see is metal studs , metal conduit , drywall screws

seems like all of them could affect it

now If someone wants to send me one I would be glad to check it out and report back [smile]

30 or 40 bucks and I would give it a try. But 130? no thanks.

exactly , I have a fair size job coming up and I took a close look at it again the other night and thats exactly what I concluded 100 over priced

Looks like the case is worth more than the tool. Kind of Cheesy looking to me.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

Thanks to all for the honest review !!!....Just as I had suspected,,good idea but over priced...

keep in mind non of us have actually tried it , I would gladly pay 130 if I thought it would do whats claimed

I just don't think it would actually work that well

Ask them to give you a field set to try. Maybe try the fiberglass fish tape at ten feet. That works great for me.

Great idea but to much money. Looks like the box is half the cost plus shipping

Skywalker has a product in their new catalog the "magna-pull" that is only $90.

Doesn't have that silly-looking roller, but instead has a puck-like thing.

Claims it works through fiberglass insulation - I find that doubtful, but who knows.

GMgerry....sooo right...I have been using a thin fiberglass 10' rod by "Labor Saving devices" for years and find it to be the best, but I'm always interested in new tools that save me time and money....
Thanks
Rich
