How do I set up a button on the console to activate Auto Attendant to answer at that point all incoming calls?
Now they are forwarding calls to an answering service, but will like to start using the AA.
Night-Only Call Handling
If Night-Only Call Handling is programmed, the communications system directs
calls to the Automated Attendant Service only when the communications system
is in Night Service.
Programming a Night Service Coverage Receiver
Program the MERLIN Messaging System Calling Group as the Night Service
Group Member for the System Operator. Night Service calls are sent to the
MERLIN Messaging System, and Automated Attendant Service answers the call.
To Assign Automated Attendant (AA) that that will be servicing the Night Service Mode:
Menu>Sys Program>Start>Night Service>Group Assign>Calling Group>Enter the Extension number of Night Service Operator (XXX) press Enter>Enter the extension number of Merlin Messaging System Calling Group (770) press Enter> Exit.
Note: Assign a Night Button on Operator phone.
To assign Lines that will be covered by the Night Service:
Menu>Sys Program>Night Service>Group Assignment>Lines>Enter the Operator Extension that will be covering (XXX) >Enter the phone Lines/pools that will be sent automatically to the night service automated attendant. (800, 802, 70 etc.)
Assign a Night Service button to the phone.
