I am installing a new system for a customer and have set up a Calling group (775) for a dept. that has 4 stations and a phantom extension (x300) in it.
The Phantom extension is forwared to an outside number (1800...).
The Calling group is set up for Linear hunt and auto login.

I had hoped that the calls would go to the group and hit each of the stations in sequence and if noone answers go the the phantom station that would then forward to the outside number.

That is not happening. So, either I have not set it up correctly (most likley) or the system will not do it.

I have tested to make sure that the forwarding is working by calling 300 directly, and it does go to the forward destination.

Any ideas?
TIA,
-Todd

I would put the PHANTOM into it's won calling group and then OVERFLOW the calls to that group from the original group.

Thanks, Merlin
I will try it and let you know how it works

i have the same but diff problem forwarding off site from
a selector code both new rel magix & new rel v-mail.
if you call the sta direct it will forward out but using
the selector code it sends it to the operator phone.keep in mind i've done this about 80 times.

well I tried the overflow, but it does not work.

I did some more reading and discovered that if you forward a station it will be automatically logged out of the calling group.

So, I cannot do that apparently.
I also cannot overflow from a calling group to a phantom station.

I have also set up the same arrangement as Sammy with the selector code xfer with the same results. I did set the station up as a transfer only station in the voicemail system.

So, I still need a solution to transfer out of the system after trying 3 phones in a calling group.

ok go in and set the reliable disconnect to yes that should fix it

You need to allow trunk to trunk transfer on the VM ports and change the FRL in order to get a station to forward from VM. At least, that is how I have done it in the past.

instead of phanton in calling group add a real analog station port, loop the station to line port ,add line to phamtom sta add foward to outside line

Ok,
I am trying it a differnt way.
I am now trying to send calls to a phantom extension that is remote call forwarded to the outside number.

I have programmed coverage buttons on the extensions that I want to try to get the calls if they are availible.

I tried to set the forward delay to 4 rings to give them a chance to answer it first, but it forwards immediatly with no delay.

All I want to do is transfer to a group of phones, circulate thru (or ring all of) the availible phones, and if non answer or are availible forward to an outside number.
It should not be this difficult.

Try not making it a phantom mail box. Program mailbox so it has a phone, see if that changes anything.

TO answer your first problem, you can't remote forward extensions in calling groups. Considering you overflow has to be a calling group, that would be your problem.

As a possible solution for you problem...how about shared system access. Setup a t/r extension...phantom extension with an MFM being used....or a physical mlx phone that is plugged in back in the phone room.....either way, you need a physical extension. Then....set-up this extension for delay forward...you pick the number of rings. Then forward this extension to where you want it to go. Then assign SSA buttons 1 and 2 to the phones you want to ring in a "group", from the extension that is forwarded. SSA is *19 {{extension}} {{button number}}.

Never tried it...but sounds good.
