A few questions:

1) The LED on the MAGIX processor board is "F". Does this indicate a bad processor?

2) Is it ok to put a space in between station cards to allow for growth without renumbering?

3) Can the Messaging card go in the last slot of the expansion carrier?

Thanks in advance.

F is Full Default Restarting - the database is completely clear. Should only see it upon powering up a brand new system, or after doing a full restart.

DONT skip slots when putting in cards. Use "set up space" as your default numbering scheme, all extensions will be in the 7100 range, adjuncts in the 7300 range. THEN renumber your extensions to what you really want them to be. DONT use 2 digit numbering, it is very restricting. Use at lease 3 digit numbering.

Messaging can go in the last slot, as long as there are other cards up to that point. Otherwise, just put it in as the last card. Remember that you're going to renumber your stations as you go, so the voice mail ports can stay in the 7100 range with no problem.

Ok I will load the cards all contiguous. What do you mean by "setup space"?

The term "setup space" refers to the system numbering plan that provides the most flexability in station numbering. See the Legend System Planning document and Features document for full explanations of same. Even though these are Legend manuals they cover the Magix also. Avaya did not publish separate ones for these subjects.

Take the time to download and READ the manuals. Your installation will go much better when you know what to expect!

They are free from the Avaya website.

Hope this helps!
