I recently installed a PRI on a Magix Rev 1.5. I am having a problem with dialing out. It takes approx. 10-12 seconds before it completes the call(when I start hearing the ringback from the distant end.
Before installing the PRI the customer had a T1 broken out to copper lines with an Adtran channel bank and there was no issues. The previous lines were in the default pool group 70, so when I swapped them to the PRI I removed the old lines and installed the channels (11-23) in to the pool group 70 and removed the old lines. The system is setup as Hybid/PBX, and there really isn't any ARS tables used, just the default ones that were there before.
If the PRI is idle so that the traffic light is not on on the PRI card and I dial a number it takes approx 6 seconds from when I complete the dialing string until the yellow light(traffic light) lights on the PRI card and then approx 4-5 seconds before I hear ringback. If I dial a # after I dial the number then it will dial out with no delay.
I checked the interdigit timer and it was set at 5. I changed the value to 1 which was too fast so settled on 3. Still it is slow. I had a vendor meet with the PRI provider, but it seems to be a switch issue.
Does anyone have any advice they could give to lessen the amount of time that it takes to complete the call.

Thanks,
Brian

It's the nature of the beast - the call is not let out through the D channel until the Magix is convinced that you are done dialing. That's why the # sends the call right away.

Adjusting the Interdigit timers for a happy medium is the way to go, or teach the customer to press # at the end of the number.

TTT is absolutely right, for faster service press #! With PRI service, no matter what PBX system you use, they all work the same. In order to setup a call, the Legend/Magix has to have ALL the digits to send to the CO on the DCH. They are only sent once, so it needs all of them. The # tells the switch "that's all folks" put the call through!

All true, but I'd still like to see what values appear on the Inter-digit timer line of a SYSTEM SET-UP report. I would also be thoroughly unsatisfied with that much of a delay. Would you mind posting that bit of information? There still may be something that we can do to fix this up.
