Magix Private Line to Voice Mail

Hi All!

I have a new customer with a Merlin Magix, they want to install a private line on a phone. I don't do a lot of work with the magix...can someone tell me how to set this private line up AND send the calls for the new private line to that extensions voice mail. The private line is a POTS line.

Assign the line to the extension, through Extensions > Lines and Trunks, then make that extension the Principal User of the line through Lines > Principal User (found on the 2nd or 3th screen of line options)

OR - ONLY assign that line to that one extention (i.e., remove it from the Operator phone)
