Does anyone know if it's possible to port over receive digits starting with 9 on a T-1/PRI circuit? I was told no as it is default for outbound service access? If it can be received, how does the 9 for outbound get changed? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

you could have extensions starting with a 9, and then strip off the 9 so you would have 3 digit extension. Personally, I wouldn't advise of it, but It can be done. You can as well, set upi to dial out ARS code to be another digit other than 9, then again, I wouldn't advise of it, it becomes a real pain in the patuity.

Not exactly - You could have DIGITS SENT starting with 9 and then strip off the 9.

What is the RANGE of the PRI D-I-D numbers they are sending you?

Yes sir Jinxs, but you said you could have EXTENSIONS starting with 9, that opens up a whole new can of worms.

By the way, did you see my post about the 517M15 T1 card?

if you need to keep your digit numbers, you can change the outbound ARS dial code from 9 to something else, but having been forced to do that before, it does get a bit confusing. i had to change it from 9 to 5.

Merlinman,
Yeah, I saw that. I can't believe that they would have a DS1 card that will not accept common channel. Then again, I can't believe they would make a CSU that only accepts AMI and not B8ZS.

Merlinman, what was that you mentioned about B8ZS and AMI? Is that on their current T-1 card??

I didn't mention that on this post.

The issue with the 517M15 had to do with COMMON CHANNEL.

Let me know....

MerlinMan,
Not sure what you mean when referring to the Common Cnannel..Please explain

PRI uses one channel for signaling, therefore it is called "COMMON CHANNEL" signaling, as opposed to ROBBED BIT SIGNALING, which happens within each channel.

Pri can have 23 BEARER (Talk Path) channels and one DATA channel.

ROBBED BIT can have all 24 Channels as talk paths.
