I'm relatively new to the Magix. We are replacing our ancient and outdated Panasonic DBS systems with the new relase of the Magixs.

Just got our PRI delivered with the DID station numbers running across it. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to map the DIDs to the extensions.

Receiving 4 digits from our CLEC. Station numbers range from 1820-1858 as well as 0800 (had to port over the main number as a DID).

With the Magix, does the DID number need to be identical to its goto-ext?

Also another dumb question, I have the MOH on the old loop-start card, port 808, but it will not allow me to assign to MOH. 808 has been removed from all pools, remote acess lines, etc. Ideas?

Thanks for everyones help, this forum has been a great help so far.

PRI - Rather Complex and Not so User Friendly to program on Magix. However, to answer your question, No, the Extensions DO NOT NEED TO MATCH.

They can send you 4 digits, and you can drop one, (or more) they can send you 1234 and you can change it to 4321, it is VERY FLEXIBLE (up to 16 Tables). But you are dealing with a rather unfriendly system until you can figure it out.

Remember, D-I-D, (PRI or T1) makes your system an "EXTENSION BASED" system, not line based.

That is, your 0800 Main Number must now be pointed to an EXTENSION.

MOH - the 1st thing I'd consider is that the system has to be idle to allow you to set a line as MOH, and/or you may already have a MOH, so you'd have remove the old one.

Thank you merlinman.

I guess that is the poblem, I cannot seem to find the programming for the table to alter the DID number. Right now, I have (for example) station number 1821 and renumbered extension 125 to be 1821. Works great. It would be nice to be able to instead change station number 1821 to now be 125.

Your help is greatly apprecaited. Like I said, these forums are great.

With SPM, print out PRI info. You should be able to get a hint or 2 there.

Telling each and every step would be so cumbersome for this forum.

There are other (RECENT) posts that showed more detail.
