Customer had new magix PRI installed last week. I was there today because of a few second delay when making outbound calls. LEC says it's my equipment. Does anyone know of any adjustments in the Magix that could help? Thanks in advance.

Actually, I observed a slight delay at the last one I set up.

I think a 1 second or so delay is normal.

A few seconds, I would question.

Is your PRI accessed through a DIAL 9 Code or how?

There are timers you can play with that can change things, but here's a test you can make:

Dial a call, and press the POUND (#) sign and see if that speeds it up.

If it does then we can look at either the INTERDIGIT timers or the PROTOCOL Timers.

I did, indeed try that, and it does seem to speed it up a little, but I can't really give the solution of rememberring to hit pound after dialing for every call. Can you give me a hint as to how to adjust the timers? I have never modified them.

Thanks

Had the same issue when switching to PRI from a standard T1. Everyone in the office got somewhat used to the delay after a while. I did mess with the timers though and was able to make it a little better that way. I beleive it was the interdigit timers rather than the protocal timers I adjusted. I think one of the interdigit timers coresponds to the time it waits for an 8th digit to be dialed...thats the one I adjusted. I do get some complaints now and then from people not having enough time to dial a long distance number before it times out. I would just play with the setting until you get a balance that yields the least complaints. :) Oh and try doing a search of this forum for interdigit...I beleive some info has already been posted.
