Hello everyone. We have a Magix 2.1 V8.0 that is connected to our Definity g3 comm2.2 by a PTP T1. Every morning I have to busy out and restore the 100DCD slot to get our interoffice dialing up. Now it is like 3x a day. Data is always fine.

Here are the details: The point to point is split in half for voice and data. on the Definity side the ptp goes into an adtran atlas 890 and voice is split of to the Definity. Clocking is done by the Definity Verizon is our LEC. On the Magix side the PTP goes into and Adtran csu/dsu and voice is split off to the Magix 100DCD card. The card is Hardw vint 0B, App Vint 33, and Firmware A1 set to PRI, Extended superframe, B8ZS, Line Comp 2 no signaling selected and channel unit is foreign exchange.Sprint is our LEC.

We have replaced the card and adtran on the Magix side and the T1 card on the Definity side. Had sprint test and monitor the PTP(checks fine)and had Verizon test (our PTP is split between the two LEC's. The atlas 890 shows no errors. I was told that at one time we had intermittent frame slips but am not sure how or where to check this. Any help would be appreciated. I'm stumped our Vendor is stumped and you guys are my only hope. Thanks

In SPM for the Magix, under Maintainence, Slot (the T1Slot) Look at error events.

That is where you will see slips & misses and the like.

That may or may not tell you anything.

But that is where to start.

I found 53 slips. But why would data not be effected?

53 is not many -

How 'bout the other numbers?

Is that 1 hour or the current reading?

I'd be interested in knowing the Previous Hour, Current Hour and taking a peek at the error log.

That was past 24 i think. We are now changeing to a DS1 card on trying it in a different slot. Our vendor said we might want to switch our point-Point from a PRI to a straight T1. What does that do for us?

If they mnake it stright t1, then that will probably cure your problem.

All you have to do is tell me MAGIX's they are still PRI, just set your PRI up correctly and you'll have no trouble.

I did not know it was being provided as a PRI. When you do point to point between 2 MAGIX, you only use regular T1, and let the MAGIX make it a PRI.

So far it has been up(fingers crossed) since Friday. Merlinman, when you say they do you mean the LEC?

I must have jinxed myself. After posting we started having problems. There is now a slight delay after dialing an ext on the magix and calls are getting droped. I looked at errors and all i see is MIS 001 SLP 001 everything else is 000. What is MIS?

MIS = Misframes, SLP = Slips

001 & 001 ain't nuttin'

Look at Previous hour and see what it says.

MIS 002 SLP 02. This is just weird. everything worked fine for the past4 days and now intermittant busy signals when no one is even on the phones. Hmm I just checked the Definity side and 2 warnings listed as SYS-LINK PRI.

Well, now I think you need to get with the Devinity folks - OH, Make that Definity folks....
