I just programmed my system so that extension 6419 is now the operator console phone. We have a general mailbox (9991) and extension 6419 has a personal mailbox. When people call inbound and reach the auto-attendant they can successfully transfer themselves to 6419 however 6419's mailbox will never answer unless it is in DND mode or someone is on the phone? The extension will simply ring and ring with no answer. This behaves this way when the system is in Night Service Mode and when it is "NOT" in Night Service mode. I've checked all my settings and 6419 is set & covered by the VM coverage group, etc...

I have never set the operator/console phone to have a personal mailbox so is it possible? During the day (when Night Service is off)6419 successfully takes all the calls so I have this working properly. Any advice on programming or is this possible?

What kind of voicemail?
Analog lines, or T1/PRI?
....extension 6419 has a personal mailbox.
....I have never set the operator/console phone to have a personal mailbox
Which is it? Is there a mailbox 6419 that can receive messages, or is it directed to the automated attendant?
Are callers pressing 0, or dialing 6419 to reach the operator?

There is a mailbox (personal) for 6419. Apparently if she is on the phone callers calling her extension off the auto-attendant will get her voicemail box. However when we call in (after-hours) when the system is on Night Service and we reach the auto-attendant - we dial her extension 6419 and it simply rings and rings and never picks up. The general mailbox for the organization is 9991.

Check to see if you have Night Service with Coverage Control enabled

NightSrvce?CoverContrl?Select Enable or
Disable?Enter?Back

The issue was not related to the Night Service coverage . . . rather we determined that the number of coverage rings was the issue. Extension 6419 (the only oeprator extension) had been set to "5" rings. All other extensions were set to "3". Once we reduced the number of coverage rings on this extension to "4" (3 worked as well) voicemail picked up with no issue. I am confused as to what would not allow 5 rings to work as we configured another extension from 3 rings to 5 and the voicemail picked up with no issue. THe operator extension as no coverers configured so I have no idea why 5 rings forces the extension to ring and ring with no voicemail answer. We also noticed that if DND was turned on for 6419, voicemail would always pickup.

Not sure why the feature interaction is inconsistent. However, if you go to Aux Equipment, AA/VMS, you can change the Transfer Return Rings for the auto attendant, to make it higher, and then bump up the Operator's group coverage rings again.
