We have a customer that wants to tie together with point to point T-1's 3 off site and 1 main building with DID's and a UDP. Each site has less than 20 employees and the main site has 60 employees. My question is at the main site can we use one T-1 card to send and receive calls to the branches by assinging channels to each branch i.e. 1-5 site one, 6-10 site 2, 11-15 site 3 and 16-23 for the main site. Magix 2.2 at remote sites, main site Magix 4.0. We have not purchased any T-1 cards yet. The network is being serviced by Cisco equipment.
We did a simular job using Nortel's with Adtran units to manipulate the digits for DID,s/UDP and only used one T-1 card at each site.I know most of this will be dependent upon the Cisco equipment but I beleive it to be simular to Adtran's equipment as far as digit manipulation.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.

You'll have to think about this a little. The Magix can only support 3 T-1 cards per system, so at the main you would have T-1 A as the in/out T-1 to Telco, then BC&D to the other sites. That won't work, HOWEVER. I have seen a multiplexed solution that would work, but a little tricky: It goes like this:
T-1 A to Main Magix; then a second T-1 card goes to a multiplexor which then feeds T-1 B,C & D to their respective locations. This will work even with centralized voice mail, but I'm not sure that's how you want to go.

Thanks Pepperz
We have voice mail at each site now and that will stay the same. By using the 2nd T-1 card at the main site to go out to the remotes on channel 1-5 for site one 6-10 site two and 11-15 site three should also leave room for growth.

I don't understand how the single T-1 card to the remote sites will be used. There is one conection in that card, and you have three sites to set up. How are you going to access each site, OR is Telco doing the miltiplexing for you?

The point to point T-1's will carry voice and data and run through Cisco routers which will then break out channels for voice at the remote sites. We have a meeting with the Cisco people this A.M. to make sure their equipment will do the same thing that Adtran equipment does.

If the Cisco's can multiplex the voice signals, you may be in business.
