I have many locations that I consistantly connect to, so I feel confident the problem is location/hardware based, not my modem or pc settings....

I have a Magix that I cannot connect to remotely. Have made test calls to modem and get "strange" tones (not your normal modem tones). Is there any way to repair or replace the modem or is this a processor swap?

the modem is on the PC card. You could get another PC card for the switch. First do a back up to your laptop or desktop, change out the card and restore programming from the computer.

On the Magix the Modem is in the processor. You might want to try resetting the modem in Maint. but i doubt it will help.

Just have someone dial *10 internally and listen from a phone. Does it sound normal that way? If not try resetting the switch and then give it a shot. The modem can be replaced in the Proc card, but it is unlikely that it will need to be.
