Hello everyone.

Am putting in a new system, and have used the DuVoice DV2000 messaging on my other system at our 1 remote location. I can administer it remotely through Windows Terminal Services as it is an XP based machine.

Question is, can I remote administer the Magix Messaging release 3 via the network, ie, does it have a web-interface that allows us to add/edit/maintain mailboxes and unified messaging?

Thanks, your help is really appreciated.

I have always been a fan of PC based voicemails. I have put countless Voicegates on Avaya phone systems and they worked great. If a had a harddrive go bad i would just go buy a new one, and the tech support is better and free. I have a quote out now for a Duvoice DV4 and hope to sell it. It's time for something different. Also with the external it is easier to trouble shoot msg waiting and out calling using a digit grabber. The Avaya stuff is SO propritary and if it has a problem It usually means replacing not troubleshooting. Gettign back to your question you can program the system VIA IP using the Avaya software that can be douwloaded from Avaya.

Just my 2¢

So Don,

Are you saying DuVoice is more servicable than Messaging?

I have been looking for a less expensive alternative.

Could this be it?

Sure, the DuVoice is a standard PC that can be Fixed with off the shelf parts and runs an off the shelf operating system that any computer guru would know inside out, And yes it is less expensive, I can get a 4 port duvoice DV4 for $1300 less than a 4 port merin messaging R3. You may have to buy an 016TTR card if you dont have the capacity on the phone system, but you would also Gain 12 unused Single line station ports that you would not be using on the card.

One of the few thing you dont get is the New/Old messages on the screen of the phones but it looks like the vEmail - email part of the voicemail is a piece of cake to use.
