Hello, I have a customer that currently has a spirit 2448 system. They are outgrowing the system. They wish to still have all the buttons on all of the telephones as with the spirit 24 button sets. Initial thoughts were to go in with the legend system with atl modules and use the Bis 34d sets. Then I thought go with a legend 7 or Magix r.X and use Partner 34 button telephone sets. The requirements are as follows:
20 analog pots lines
70 telephone stations.

Would the Legend 7 / Magix system handle that many partner telephones?

Any other thoughts. They just love all the buttons.

Please excuse me for saying it this way, but that would be the worlds DUMBEST Design.

Partner phones on a LEGEND or MAGIX are a NIGHTMARE.

The buttons DO NOT map correctly and it's just a mess over all.

If they are going to spend money for a NEW (or Refurbed) System, and 70 Phones, put them into a system that will work.

AND SELL THEM ON THE IDEA OF:

"You guys now need to move into the 21st Century with your PHONE SYSTEM, and START USING POOLS and DIAL 9 FOR OUTSIDE CALLS and GET D-I-D (PRI) and ABANDON that OLD KEY SYSTEM DESIGN."

The bottom line is "THEY HAVE OUT GROWN IT!".

No two ways about it.

20 LINES and 70 EXTENSIONS is a NON-SQUARE PBX Type of system.

What will you do when they grow to have 40 LINES and 140 Extensions.

There's not a system on earth that can do that.

They must change their ways and you must show them how, and, you must do it now, while you still have a chance.

Otherwise, you will be in Jurasic park, fighting the Dinosaurs, forever.

Amen, brother. Enough of these cheap, uninformed customers
who for whatever reason, think that they can replace a
Spirit system with a Legend and make it work the same....
For any of us techs who have had to program ETR packs with
Partner phones..what a major pain...and as MM stated, they
don't work the same and the button alignment is really
screwy....
How long have you been do this?????

I agree with both of them. My salesmen gave me a formula one day that I can use to sell PRI's to customers. If you have somewhere around 11-13 lines in hunt, that is around the same cost as a PRI. These people can have roughly two PRI's for the cost of there 1FB's, redundancy on there main line that you don't get with 1FB's, and like the other two said, they would have graduated to the 21st century with there phone system.
