Just recently I and my users have been experiening dropped calls on one of our lines. If Im reading the SPM report right, its trunk 802 which is a pots line. Should I get the line tested by verizon or could a port on the board be failing?

Lastly I have the below system and have a 408 GS/LX. If I get the 408 that has caller id, how much reconfig of the system would be needed to get caller id on my lines? Also what is the best way to find out which board my lines go into

Board Processor: CKE5
HW VTG: 02
MAGIX 4.0 V7.0

Thanks

As far as line 802, yes, I would have your vendor test that line.

To answer your 2nd question, we would have to know exactly what Modules you have.

The 408 Modules have 8 ports on the bottom for the MLX Extensions.

The top 4 ports are what your lines are plugged into. There is also a "Power Failure" jack on the very top of the Module which allows access to line 801 by way of a Single Line phone if the power goes out.

By the way, the Extension Ports and the Line Ports all count UP from the Bottom.

Other than that, we would need to know if you have other modules.

Well, what I told you holds true for all of your 408 Modules.

Plus, depending on how many total LINES you have that you want CALLER ID on, then that's how many 408 ID Modules you will need.

The 400 module will not do Caller ID.

Based on the post of your System Setup, it looks like you have a LEGEND, rather than a MAGIX.

The Module the link displays is for a MAGIX. It would work, but it would require what is known as a CLAM SHELL.

To verify my analysis, tell me if the CARRIER your Modules are connected to is WHITE PLASTIC or SHEET METAL?

If it is WHITE PLASTIC, you will be paying a premium for the Module shown on the link. You can probably find one of the PLASTIC COVERED modules much cheaper.

you are correct its a legend and we have clam shells

You do have one caller-ID capable 408 module in your system currently (the one that shows up as GLM-U). However - you would also have to check the application vintage - to make sure it is new enough. You could move that module to be your first 408 card - and you would get caller ID on your 1st 4 lines only. However - this card is considered by the system to be "different" than a regular 408 GS/LS MLX - so after swapping cards - the phones and lines connected to it will not work until you perform a "board renumber".

If you have WinSPM - and can connect to the ADMIN port on the processor - that is not a problem. If you are using an MLX-20L - you would have a problem.

You would first need to reprogram the "programming port" to your 2nd 408 MLX card, then swap modules, then do a "board renumber", then change your programming port back to the Operator extention.
