the Merlin Magix 100R INA 617B55 card...
and what is it purpose??

Metrolinedirect's description of the card looks good. The card allows you to combine Internet and voice traffic on a single T1 circuit.

Thank you both for pointing me in the right direction.
It seems to me that this card preceded the current
100dcd card with the internal CSU/DSU...an attempt
to combine data & voice over the same card...unlike
the routers used to split the data & voice service
the PRI provides....
I guess the card proved not to be popular with the
tech community or it didn't work, right??????

The 100R was indeed an attempt to have voice and data split using the Magix system. It never worked well and was abandoned with the 100DCD Module.

Yes, and I found out the blasted 100-DCD doesn't do DATA either. (Even when it's supposed to) Cost me a 3 location job and two weeks of programming to boot!
