Working with a Magix 4.0 with Merlin Messaging 1.0.
I am wondering if there is anyway for a selector code transfer to transfer to a ring group (ex 774) ring 2 phones in the group in a linear order (ext38, 39) and go to 774 mailbox without 38 and 39 logging in or out. Just simply ring the two phones and go to voicemail after x amount of rings.

I have read several post about this subject but no real clear answer. Any suggestions appreciated.

Make an adjunct extension, have the auto attendant transfer to that, put a Primary Coverage with Immediate Ring button on Ext. 38, a Primary Coverage with Delayed Ring button on Ext. 39, and put the adjunct in the voice mail coverage group, giving it a mailbox in the Messaging. Only problem with the R1 is a message waiting light, which you can address with outcalling.

Actually what you described is exactly what I did. I used out calling to light the message waiting light. The problem with this is the customer also wanted to use outcalling to call a phone on various mailboxes. When I gave the voicemail the ability to dial out #53 on the adjunct mailbox out call quit working. I could not find anyway to put a flash in an outcalling dial string so I could get system tone to be able to acconplish this.

Is ther a way to insert a flash or another approach?

You dial 9 for outside calls. So an outcalling string to a cell phone will be "9*5551222

If the voicemail is upgraded to a newer release will it have the ability to light MWL on different phones using the example given at the begining of this post?

What you would do us use the Phantom Destination option to have the adjunct's mailbox answer, but deposit the incoming message into someone else's mailbox.

Oh, you could make the adjunct's mailbox an auto attendant, disable all the selector codes, and make the Dial-0/timeout option "record a message in the general mailbox". Have the Auto Attendant greeting give the outgoing message, and change the general mailbox's greeting to me a short silence. Then you could pick whomever you want to be the general mailbox's owner for the message waiting light.

At this particular location I have a PRI ringing in at the main console which is already pointed to AA1. There are 3 departments that are needing the group call along with their own mailbox for each department if no one answers. You would never get these people to log in and out of their group. This is why I was looking for another way.

With the last option you mentioned I wold only have the capacity to support one department not 3 due to you can only have 1 general mailbox correct?

Can this be done with Merlin Messaging 1.0 or will the customer need to upgrade?

Thanks for all of your help. I have read the Voicemail and Magix docs but I thought I was missing something beause something so basic as what I am trying to do cannot be done without "work arounds". I guess it is maily designed for a call center aplication instead of a small bussines app. Again thanks for all of your help!
