Have always pressed ok and went ahead and programmed with WinSPM when this came up, but now I have a customer that wants to restore a backup to a spare processor as a backup processor to have on site. I don't know why, he just wants it. After backing up the existing processor to a hard drive, swapping out processors, and converting to new processor release, it says board mismatch even tho no hardware other than the processor has been moved. Is there a way around this without just doing a print all and programming it manually? I thank you in advance for your time.

AND, rather than using a HARD DISK back up, how 'bout just using the PCMCIA card?

Once the processor is upgraded to the same release as the original, I would do a system erase and then load the translations from the PCMCIA card.

That should eliminate the issue with any board mis-match.

Make sure the spare processor has been defaulted prior to adding it to the switch as well. If it has old programming on it, it will see the old boards and hence a board mismatch.

But, as TTT states, you can also just power the spare up in its own cabinet (with no cards) and restore onto it.
