How do you have the ports punched down? The module isn't slot dependent. Use the blue, orange, green, brown, slate secondary pairs and white, red and black primary pairs. Wire it tip and ring.

i have the amp cable plug into the card and tel jack temp to white blue with a 4412d+ plug in
it don't matter what slot its in does it?

No it does not matter what slot it is in except for how the system will number the extensions. Have you had a look at the system error log to see if the card is generating alerts? Have you tried any other pairs, like wh/o-o/wh?

i haven't done a system error log. is that easy to do?
also my mail light was on and volume control is the only thing that would work.
i'll try wh/or and other prs tomorrow.
does it sound like a problem in the 4412d+ set?
can i do a system error log with my mlx-20L set?

Menu > Maintenance > System > Error Log > Permanent
also check Last 99.

Yes, you need the 20 at extension 100 or 104.

What does it show ,in slot 2 in the system inventory ?

Try reseating the board

also try busy out slot 2, then do a reset, then do a restore

i had a 408 mlx in slot 2
i swapped with a 412 tdl did board renumber
then slot 3 016 mlx would not work
slot 4 i didn't test it's a 016 etr
slot 5 tested ok 016 t/r
is it a bad 412 tdl?

So have you done a board renumber after swapping out the card in slot 2?

Menu
Sys Program
Start
System
Board Renumber
Answer Yes

See if it starts working after the system restarts.

You're going to have to do a bit of reprogramming of the extensions downstream from the new card.

i swapped the 412 tdl back to a 408 mlx
did board renumbering, then slot 3 the 016 mlx goes back to work. slot 4 ok, slot 5 ok.
i've got to get training reprograming of the extensions from my new card .i hope to see the 4400 phones working 1 day.
i'm going to retire from the phone company not long from now, i'm getting ready for a hobby with my systems. thanks for yalls help i'll keep online.

merlin legend processor card ver7.0 has red alarm light on.
all ext work fine
is it the processor or any card in the system making the alarm
thanks

The 412 won't work if the processor is running legend software. It has to be a magix

look at your permanent errors to see why the red light ?

His 1st post says it's a magix.
His 6th post says its a legend.

I think ttech nailed it. If the processor is a Merlin Legend....any release....you won't be able to use 4400 series telephones or modules.....because the Legend does not support them.

Your choices for the R7 Legend are:

1) MLX telephones
2) ATL telephones...aka...Merlin Classic telephones
3) ETR telephones...aka...Partner telephones
4) Single Line telephones...aka...SLTs

is there a special processor card i need for magix system
like cke/5 617r33 to work the tdl card?
when i do the intercom speaker *05 it says legend

There are 2 ways you can go. The Legend processor can be replaced with a Magix processor, or, Magix software can be downloaded into the Legend processor and the programming converted.

My preference would be to swap processors and "start with a clean sheet of paper", but I think that most people would suggest going the flash upgrade route.

No matter which way you go, there are a small number of cards that are supported by the Legend that are NOT supported by the Magix. Those cards will need to either be simply removed or replaced by other cards that the Magix does support.
