Hello does anyone know is there is a feature code that each user can enter to make them busy if they are on an outside call what i mean is if im on the phone and someone tries to intercom me they would get a busy thank you this is a maix 4.0 with mlx 10 d

You can program a "Do Not Disturb" button - and activate it once you are on the call.

You could have only one SA-Voice or Ring button for incoming calls, and one SA-Out Only button to ensure you have a way to transfer your call somewhere else.

was there a way on the older legend to do this was there a program feature called voice announce

There is a voice announce on the Magix - just like on the old Legend. It is usually the 2nd up intercom button and would be labelled SA-Voice vs. SA-Ring or ICOM-V for voice. Touch the inspect key on your MLX phone and then touch each of your buttons - starting with the leftmost bottom buttom. The inspect key will show you what is programmed on each button. The 2nd key up should be the "voice" button. If you push that button first and then dial an extention number - you will be talking to that extention over its speakerphone - even if someone was on the line at that extention. You can always replace that button with a Ring rather than Voice button - so people cannot barge in over your speakerphone when you are on the line. All they could do is ring you.

The SA-Voice and SA-Ring buttons determine how YOU call ANOTHER extension - voice announce or ringing. If your phone is idle, and someone else calls YOU, what your phone does depends on what they did at their end.

However, you can block voice announce calls at your end, and with MLX phones that will voice announce even if you are on the handset, later releases allow voice announce on idle, causing the 2nd intercom call to ring even if the caller used a Voice button to get there.

By taking away all but one SA Voice/Ring button, there is only one path for incoming calls to the extension. The 2nd caller will get a busy, or cover to voice mail. The SA-Out Only button ensures that you have another path into the switch for transfers.

You could, of course, end up on an outgoing call on the SA-Out Only button, and still receive an incoming call on the free SA-Voice/Ring button. Auto Line Select should take care of that most of the time.

go to centralized programming, voice announce, and set it to "voice on idle

this won't give a busy, but will stop the voice announce to busy.
