magix 3 paging using line position how do i set it up 1

ive been reading the manuals but cant quite get it through my pea brain how to assign a button for using a trunk to page any help would greatly appreciated

If you are talking about Loudspeaker Paging (ceiling loudspeakers via an amp) - then you assign the line to a button - after that line has been programmed for Loudspeaker Page. If you are talking about paging via the telephone speakerphones - then you need to setup Paging Groups of the extentions you want included - and you can program buttons to access each paging group.

its a bogen paging system with a uti multizone paging unit so its loud speaker paging over the trunk port.

You can be a bit limited when you actually assign the paging line to a phone for loudspeaker paging - the standard restrictions apply as to where the button will appear unless you block in "placeholder" lines, add the paging line, remove the placeholders, and then reprogram all the buttons you overwrote with the placeholders.

An easier way is to program a button with Pickup and the specific line number that is interfaced to paging. For instance, if you have used line 808, program a button with *9808 and label it as paging.

We also will renumber the line to 6. That enables people without available buttons to hit #96 to access paging.

6 = paging line
