MagicJack SIP Trunkk and the Mitel 3300

Have any of you been able to connect a SIP trunk from MagicJack to the 3300?

I already have the username and password my MagicJack dongle uses? Also I have the FQDN of the SIP Server where it is ponting to.

What I'm not very clear is if I can establish the SIP trunk between the 3300 and MagicJack SIP Server without having to go through a SIP Proxy internally in my network.They use port 5070 instead of 5060, which is no problem.

I have heard that they introduce a hash in front of every packet to make SIP not that standard. Is this true?? Or... Does MagicJack uses standard SIP?

Any input will be appretiated.

u shouldn't have a problem doing this without proxy unless there is some limitation on the Magic Jack.

I think you're question is probably better directed at tech support for Magic Jack, unless someone has done this interop between Mitel and Magic Jack as you rightly asked.

According to a Magicjack forum "Magicjack authenticates with their proxies is they combine your password with their proxy info to create an MD5 hash".

That's why I am trying to reach MagicJack servers by going throug the MD5 SIP proxy first.

However, I will try by going straight from the 3300 to proxy01.miami.talk4free.com and let you know if it registers.

Remember that magicjack is a internet telephony service that in theory is made for working with an USB dongle connected to your PC and you should connect to an analogue phone. What I've done is crack Magicjack dongle user and password and snif which sip server uses, which in my case is as I mentioned proxy01.miami.talk4free.com.

I will try registering to Magicjack without the MD5 proxy and let you know what happend.

I hooked mine up to a LS Trunk, works like a charm.
