Hi all - my friend has a MAC and he is trying to talk me into getting one. Here's my question. If I download software that says it's for MACs and burn it to a CD, will I be able to install it once I get a MAC? The files that I'm downloading are .exe files. He says MAC users can't open .exe files. Is this true? If so, how come the software I'm finding (like on P2P sites) that say they are versions for MACs have the .exe extension?

TIA for any and all responses!

.exe files can not be opened on a mac unless you have Virtual PC. The files you have downloaded are most likely bogus

Agreeing with the bogus .exe for Macs bit. What a load of HorseHockey.

Mac's only run .exe when emulating the windows (PC) environment - like in Virtual Pc. Files for Mac that say .exe can't possibly be valid.

Generally agree with the above, except that .exe files may be self-extracting archives which a Mac can open.

i'm workin on a mac its call a duel doc it's a older mac getting a system error 41 how can I fix this problem

My error listing claims -41 is a disk full error

-41 mFulErr Memory full (open) or file won't fit (load)

the Duo Dock idea was a good one, but never caught on as it should

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
