Hello
I am trying to connect a Mac to a Win2K domain (with Active Directory). The server has Services for Mac installed. I can connect to the server, but the only folder I get is a Microsoft UAM Volumn. Does anyone know how to connect to the files that I'm sharing on the server?

Thanks

Use comp management shares or use the manage your server, shared folder wizard.

As Zel says you need to create further shares for your macs. Or you could use the Configure Your Server under Admin tools. It goes through it step by step. If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

With OS 10.2 you don't need to do this. it will read the regular shares from the Directory Server.

I have some older macs that i am trying to connect to a new Win2K server. They are running OS 8.6 and were previously connecting to a Winnt server via SFM. They were connecting to the new Win2K server at first but now its seems that the chooser may be corrupt. At least thatis what I am thinking. I can nolonger access this server through the chooser. I get an error unable to access type 2 and then the machine freezes up. Does anyone know of any bugs in older versions of MAC OS or possibly with win2K server?

Thanks,
Jim

Type 2 error isn't likely to be corrupt chooser.

Check obvious stuff like IP and appleshare settings. Rebuild desktop just in case. Ensure the permissions and account details are right on the server.

I've got numerous 8.6 boxes connecting to 2k servers...
