Hello. I am a new Paintshop pro user after having used Adobe Photoshop for a long time. I know that in Photoshop I was able to set up a macro in the "Actions" palette that would allow me to execute several actions with a single command (i.e. convert to grayscale, despeckle filter, soften filter, auto contrast)

Is there a way to create this type of macro in Paintshop Pro?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not in PSP 7 and earlier versions, though there is a PSP 8 beta version that you can use Python to create scripts to go way way way beyond PS macros. You can download the beta version and give it a spin. I have a link on my site and an example of a text on a path script. There is also a very active beta newsgroup. I think the expected release date for PSP 8 is around May.

Thanks Mike. That is good to hear. Now if i can just remember enough about Python to figure out how to write the script I need for my four actions, we just might have something.

There is a step recorder that will allow you to do the same type of things that macros do, but the real power is being able to use none recordable things like create input boxes and such. I'm looking forward to writing interactive tutorials.

PSP 8 has left PS in the dust!

Cool.. just got it loaded and tried it. This scripting feature works great! Thanks so much for the tip Mike.
