Macros - GM 7.6 and Windows 8

Does anyone know why Macros do not work on Windows 8? I know that macros have always been a bit flaky in GM 7.6 and I know that "it is not supported" and it does not work. But I was wondering if someone knew why they do not?

You might as well forget about Keyboard Macros under Windows 7 or 8. I don't believe that FrontRange ever intends to fix these. Of course a preponderance of complaints to FR Technical Support might sway them.

Hi DJHunt, thanks for that. So do you know why the macro do not work? I need to try and create a solution for this trouble is no one can tell me why it does not work. Just "it does not work

The Keyboard Macro feature is a Legacy app that hasn't changed since GoldMine 5.0 I believe. GoldMine relied heavily on Internet Explorer 6 then as did the app. It is not so much the OS that is causing the issue as it is the Newer Versions of IE that are installed with the new OSs. I believe therein lies your problem.

I use keyboard macros with goldmine 2013 and windows 7 regularly. I can't speak for golmdine 7 in these newer environments.

I have GoldMine 2013.1.0.249, Office 2013, and Windows 8.0 & 8.1. The Keyboard Macros still crash all of my systems, and you can't create new ones to replace the old ones that aren't working. The Recorder won't work.
