macromedia white papers: tutorial 4

hi all - new here. just downloaded the white papers for the generator tutorials and tried to get tutorial 4 (the poll map) to work. the way its set up now, it kind of looks like the movies aren't sending the right variable values.
anyone get this to run successfully? any URL to refer?

i'm slightly disappointed on the lack of resource sites of this genre - i could certainly use the help!

any pointers anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!
