How can I suppress the macro media flash installation popup ? My home computer works on a slow modem and I do not want to install nor use it.
The same problem occurs when I access a page with korean or chinese fonts, I get a popup with the question whether I want to install these fonts. Well I cannot read them so why installing.

Is there a setting in Internet explorer or the registry to get rid of any of these popups ?

hennep.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "Enable Install on Demand". Also uncheck Enable Install on Demand (Other), if you;re running IE6.

For the Flash popup:
Tools>Internet options, click the Security tab, then the Custom Level button and choose "Disable" under Download signed ActiveX Controls.

reghakr,

thanks for your time, but
In the IE settings "Enable Install on Demand" was already unchecked and all ActiveX download settings are disabled, safe and unsafe.
I'm still gettings these popups.

hi PAnderson,

I give you a star for mentioning this tool. It quite an improvement.
But it doesn't stop the "Security Warning" popup.

As for the security warnings, have you unchecked
"Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode"
in Internet Options/Advanced ?

yes it is unchecked, and all activex download/initialize/run settings are set to disabled

I am using IE version 5.50.4134.0600
