Hi,

I have a nice working macro which generate a cube in transformer, that is kicked off by a batch file. So far everything works fine but when i added a SECOND entry in the batch file which kicks off a second macro(or the same) to generate a second cube nothing happens. I get a "retry or switch to" window on my screen. I tried the versions 6.X, 7.0 and 7.1 but this makes no difference... ;-(

My question: Is it possible to generate cubes PARALLEL instead of sequential????

Who can shine some light on this ??

You have to be careful when running cube builds concurrently. IMHO, I usually find it just as fast (and safer) to build two consecutively as running two in parallel.
This being said, here is what you can try.
Because temp files are used, you will have to specify different locations to use for temp, working files, etc. Transformer will use the defaults specified in the application so you can either use a preference file or the -d switch on the command line. The online help file has details regarding these.

Hope it helps.

hi flex,

The reason is that i have a short time window where the cubes must be generated. When i do it sequential we run out of time... therefore i'm trying to do it parallel. Unfortunately all the provided examples from cognos are sequential...

The commandline options are worth looking at if i get it running you get your star!

thanx flex
