Macro option gone from Tools Menu 1

If you're using Word 2000 try checking out MS KB article Q242368.

You might have to reinstall Word 97 and make sure the macro part is installed if thats an option - I think it is.
Or, try this first. In Word go to tools/customize/commands/, then on the left pane choose tools and in the right pane scroll down and see if adding macros is an option, if it is, add anything to do with macros to the tools menu by draging it up to the actual menu and placing it somewhere.

Um. You may want to try renaming your normal.dot file because it sounds like you've got a macro virus in it.
