We are running Accpac 500 ERP V5.5a with SQL Server 2005. All users log on to the server via Remote Desktop Connection and run Accpac there.

I have a macro which has been in production since Dec 2007 that ports A/R data from an external billing system to accpac and vice versa. Recently (April 2011), our billing system was re-written & the macro was updated to accommodate it.

I have views set up in a separate SQL Server database that present only the accpac transactions that need to be ported on a readonly basis. The macro opens the accpac session with a user account set up specifically for this purpose and nothing has changed with the group or user auths for this account.

There are 3 users who can run this macro. The primary user runs it daily and for her, one of the queries on the views fails with a SQL Server Timeout error about 90% of the time. The second user can run the macro and it times out for her about 10% of the time. If I run it from the Admin user account, it works flawlessly every time. The specific tables in the view are ARBTA, ARTCR, ARCUS and ARTCRO.

I have tried:
1 - having the primary user log on from a different workstation
2 - changing the order of the exports from accpac
3 - optimizing the RDC configuration
all to no avail.

There are user authorization differences between the Admin account and the various user accounts, but I am not sure if that's relevant since the macro uses the same accpac user account and SQL Server credentials regardless of who runs it.

I would be ever so grateful if someone could point me in the right direction to solving this.

Thanks! Looks like that resolved the effect if not the underlying cause of the delay. Much appreciated!
