Macro for HISTOGRAM

I am trying to create histograms in Excel 97. I can analyze the data in Excel (Data Analysis tool) and create a pareto and data histogram. Therefore I tried to create a macro that does that - recording while I go through those steps of creating a histogram. Excel crashed !!! I tried it again, it crashed. Then I tried it on another computer, Excel crashed while recording the macro. Then another computer - Excel crashed. Is it a bug in Excel 97 or I just cannot create histograms ?

I need to create the histograms - 12,000 lines of data in column A and the 6 bins that I want to use in column D....
and this histogram creating occurs atleast 20 times a day...

I tried writing the VBA lines for that...well apparently I aint that good in VBA...

make sure atpvbaen.xls is checked at the list displayed on the the Tools, References dialog box in VBA editor. (in Excel: Tools, Macro, Visual Basic Editor, Tools, References...)
