Macola Spooled Reports Problem

I'm having a problem with Macola spooled reports not being found when I select print spooled reports from Progression Workflow Explorer.
We are running Macola MSSQL ver 7.5.103e
The workstations are windows 2000 pro, the server is Windows 2000 (NTFS) with MSSQL 2000.
The spool files exist in the data directory as prt files.

So far Macola has not been able to help.

If I set the file attribute to read only they appear but if I take off the read only attribute they do not appear. Obviously I'd like not to leave them read only so that they can be managed from within Macola.

Anyone see this before? Any help would be appreciated. I have checked using Progression SQL Explorer and I still have the same problem.

If you spool a report, someone needs rights eventually to delete the report. Macola's naming convention is an 8 character name with the last 2 characters designating the number of times it finds that particular report. The first time the report was run it would be ardist01.prt for the AR Distribution to GL report. The next time it's run it would be ardist02.prt and so on until it gets to 99. If it finds 99 copies of the same report, it will overwrite the 99 one each time.

I would give the users full rights to the reports so they have the ability to print them and also purge them once they are finished with them.

It sounds like the rights on the data folder itself is stopping them from seeing the reports. I would check the rights on the folder itself. Usually, I give users full rights on the data folders.

This is not a problem with reports being overwritten or user rights on the report directory. You can readily see, print and delete reports from Windows explorer except while they are flagged read only of course. All Macola users have full rights to the Macola Data directory.
This happens when I'm logged in as the network administrator. If I go to the directory in an ms-dos box and issue an "attrib +r *.prt" command then return to Macola they appear in Print Spooled Report and can be printed but of course they cannot now be deleted.
Macola has acknowledged that they have heard of the problem before but so far they have no permanent fix.
I've temporarily put two icons on the users windows desktops that alternately mark the prt files read only then remove the read only attribute mostly so they can be overwritten. Thanks for the suggestion but that is not the problem.
