I administer a windows NT-4 domain with over 50 workstations, I have a problem with one of my workstations, it have windows XP, everytime the user open macola, he had to create his shorcuts in the macola window. when he log off , and log on again, the shortcuts gone. I use random profiles to all my users, I only have problems with that machine. Any ideas??

1 of 2 fixes.

Leave the profile you have in. Let them log in to the domain to get their resources. Log off. Remove their profile. They log in they should be able to keep their shortcuts.

2 Make sure the end user has full permissions to registry key

HKEY\Localmachine\software\macola

You can use the Progression Workflow Explorer which stores the shortcuts on the server in a table vs. one of the workstations. The benefit is no matter what workstation you log in from, you'll get your own shortcuts.
