I am having an issue with the packing list in Macola. Periodically throughout the day, the MacExe.Exe process hangs and sucks up 25% of the processor. I used process explorer to get some more information and this is how I determined that it was the packing list. Here is the information:

"W:\Macola75\MacExe.exe" OEPAKSCN OEMENU OE "ACD=NNN"

It is always the same thing. I can end the process without kicking the user out and everything is fine. However, if I don't check it and three or 4 build up it pins the machine with 100% of the processor. I am not very familiar with Macola, we are using unsupported version 7.6.100a SQL which I inherited from my predecessor. Any help is much appreciated!

All workstations or just one workstation?

All the time or just on certain part numbers?

It seems to be isolated to a few workstations but definitely more than one, but then again those are the only people who print packing slips. I have tried unsuccessfully to duplicate the problem on my own machine. I have even replaced the printer because I noticed a lot of network errors on the old one. The problem is that I am not in that office so I am not able to see what is exactly triggering it.

Try printing packing list on another form and see if it still locks up. This would indicate a corrupted form.

Also try to print a packing list in Macola demo data. If it still lock it could indicate your OE data is bad.

Are you printing kit components on the packing list?

I have seen this happen when the is an error in the kit file i.e. - kit component is not in the item master - and you try to print kit components on the packing list.

You could run a file validation on the item master and item location and resolve all those errors, which may take a while, but that would at least take the database out of the equation.

Thank you, I will give both of those a try. We do not utilize the kit features.

We have been having an odd issue with picking tickets and the end of form. The picking ticket screen will hang up if we print an automatic picking ticket with a certain number of line items. When we have used a different form - it was a different number of line items - or comments plus a certain amount of line items. When we reprint the picking ticket it is fine because it has added the line "Duplicate Picking Ticket" and throws it onto the second page. Could this be the issue you are having?
