I was wondering if anyone is using Macola's Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) module. We purchased it back in 2003 and are finally getting around to implementing it. We have it running in our test company, but it does not seem to be as useful as we originally anticipated. It would be great to talk with someone who is actually using it. So far I haven't found anyone that does.

If you use MPS, Consider using Rough Cut capacity to schedule your bottle neck operations. This will enable you to schedule the most critical resources, without the micro management of CRP. The theory (theory of constraints OPT) is you cannot schedule more production than will flow through the bottle neck.

If you decide to use CRP you must have a valid MPS that will pass the Rough Cut first, then you can use CRP to Schedule. The more voliatle the schedule the more impractial CRP will become.
