One of the Mac on the network was writing some jpeg files and ever time it does, it would either blue screen or freeze the NT4 server. No dump files saved. This server works for months without problems until now, but this is the first time where a Mac had been saving lots of Jpeg files there. (not anymore)
Any inputs will be helpfull,
Or maybe retire the bad apple.
Thanks

It is to do with long files name support. You need to ensure that the folder concerned is shared for full control to the Mac user rather than change control. Also make sure that the Mac is running OS8 or later to cure some of the problems. NT should be SP4 or later.
Sometimes none of this works and we have the odd machine that still kills NT every time.

I would check Zel's idea first, but also look at the amount of free space on the server's C: drive. You want 500MB freeat all times minimum. If you are writing a lot of large files, the spool files may be filling the C: drive. NT will be very unhappy when that happens.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Oh, what a PAIN!! I ran into this as well, and i found out that if you're using more than 56 characters in the directory string, it'll also crash. The MAC side doesn't like it, and crashes the NT box.
