Machine model types 1

Hi
Is there a command that will tell me which IBM model/type
of machine I'm working on - or do I have to guess, given
the info from lsattr,lsdev etc.
We have some remote sites with non-techie managers, whose
best ideas were to email some photographs !
We want to upgrade to AIX 4.3.3 ( these machines are still running under the now unsupported 3.2 ! )

It works on 4.3.3

but on 3.2 all I get is :

Once again - nearly there .........
on 4.3.3 machine i get :

lsattr -El sys0|grep modelname
modelname IBM,9076-WCN Machine name False

but on 3.2 machines i get nothing, though lsattr -El sys0 lists lots of info re cache, max this, min that, restart etc

Try:

lscfg -pv | grep -i "machine type"

but then you have to grep out what you need...since you'll see severall fields. "Long live king Moshiach !"

do a uname -a

you will see the following code

xxyyyyyymmss

the mm part is your model number

48 = 7009-C10
