Would anyone be able to offer any advice with this one ? I have a macbook pro that has a faulty keyboard. Some of the keys dont work and sadly the ones that dont include both option keys. I need to reinstall OS X and have a USB Bootable drive with Yosemite on it. I usually hold the option key down at startup and boot to startup manager to then boot from the USB drive. Obviously I cant do that now so does anyone have a workaround ? External keyboard perhaps ?

External keyboard would work, but have you looked into why the laptops keyboard doesn't work? Has the trackpad worked correctly?
