A coworker spilled her beverage on her macbook's keyboard, and it promptly turned off. After drying it out for a week, it boots up, but the monitor is dim and the computer goes right to sleep after loading. Upon pressing the keyboard, it wakes up only momentarily. Also, it works fine with an external keyboard/mouse/monitor plugged in. This has led me to believe that it is going to sleep because it thinks the monitor is always in the closed position.
Is there a switch or other detector inside for the screen's position that can be cleaned? Or, are there any other ideas? Thanks for your help,
Rich
