Is it safe to say that a Powerbook G4 would have a standard 15 pin VGA out port? I know as much about macs as I know about quantum physics so you'll have to forgive the dumb question. Thanks!

Maybe. Macs USED to have non-standard video ports, dating to before VGA was a standard, (1987) but since 1998's G3 'Wallstreet' Powerbooks started having VGA ports. G4's 800 Mhz and slower will have VGA as well. G4 Powerbooks faster than 800 Mhz will be DVI and need a DVI to VGA adaptor.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

A powerBook G4 will most likely have a DVI port, the early ones may have had a VGA port - Apple have used standard video ports since around the introduction of the G3.
