I just received a client supplied Mac Quark 6 document, that I just converted to PC CS-2 InDesign (thanks to your helpful tips, with Markzware Plug-In). I have the document open, and have the supplied fonts for it. Seems they are Mac fonts, but is there a way to convert them to PC? Or do I have to "find" or purchase PC versions on the web?

The fonts are the Officina Sans & Serif families, and a couple others.

This job is urgent, as I had the delay in converting to InDesign. Ugh! I am a current Mac User that has been recently forced into the PC world, and have no idea how to solve this issue.

Any help would be great!

Thank you, thank you!!!

If those Mac fonts are postscript - you're hosed. Postscript fonts do NOT cross platforms. However, PC Truetype fonts (TT) can be installed and used on a Mac (OSX). And if course, OpenType fonts are truly cross-platform both directions.

Officina Serif is available for download here: but no Officina Sans.

If the bundled fonts are truetype and they comae from a mac, they might not have the proper extension to the name to be recognized by windows. You can add ".ttf" to the name so it will be recognized.

Officina comes from ITC and often came bundled with Adobe apps, so the true type will be high quality.

If you need postscript you'll have to buy it unless you can find it on an install disc (windows) of an Adobe app - Illustrator being your best bet.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

is there a way to convert them to PC?

Yes. There are tools to do this but it is not a common task as there are licensing issues (you are not even licensed to use the same font files from the client even if you also had a Mac) and fonts have attributes that do not always translate between formats.
