does anyone here use director 8.5 on a mac? if so, can you make stand alone applications on the macintosh version that will also work on a pc? someone has recently suggested to me that they thought it was not possible. it seems odd to me that one would have to buy the pc version just to open the mac created file and save it right away as a stand alone app so that it works on a pc, too. $1,200 more and having to find a pc just to do a quick process is a bit outrageous. anyone know anything about this.

have to have 2 versions, one pc, one mac. Or make it shockwave.

The other way to do it is make one generic starter movie that contains nothing other than, gotomovie "mainmovie.dir"
and always call your main movie mainmovie.dir Get someone to make that into a projector for you and your all done, you have one file you can use to launch any movie you create in that version of Director, it also saves time as you don't have to keep creating projectors every time you need to test.
